ANNA ÓLAFSDÓTTIR
BJÖRNSSON

Anna was brought up in an artistic environment. From a young age she frequently visited The Iceland School og Arts and Crafts while her mother was a student there. Later she attended the school herself from 1972 - 74. In the eighties she returned to art school, this time to the Reykjavik Art School, studying drawing, print making and painting for up to 20 hours a week while still working. She wrote a history of the Reykjavik Art School (1947-1987). Anna was a founding member of the Art Society of Garðabær and Alftanes. At the turn of the century she became interested in watercolour painting while on a course in a local art society under the guidance of Gunnlaugur Stefán Gíslason. Anna was also a founding member of the Watercolour Society of Iceland and discovered a passion for the medium. She subsequently attended a watercolour workshop in September 2019 under the guidance of Keith Hornblower, Vicente Garcia 2022, Alvaro Castagnet 2022 and 2023 and Herman Pekel 2024.
