Our fifth society exhibition was held this year in Hallsteinssalur, Borgarnes. This is the first time that our exhibition has been held out of the city area but nevertheless the opening was well attended by about 140 guests.

 

In March we advertised amongst all members of the society that everyone could send in photos of a maximum of 3 original paintings. We received 168 entries from 63 members which means most used the opportunity to send in 3 photos.

 

Unfortunately we only had space for 60 paintings therefore as in previous years we appointed a jury to select the exhibited paintings from all the entries. Once again our jury was international: Guðrún Tryggvadóttir and Hlynur Helgason from Iceland together with Michael Solovyev  from Canada). They selected 60 paintings from 45 artists.

 

The exhibition was well received and the guests have commented favourably on the variety shown by the exhibited paintings.
