Guðmundur has held approximately 40 solo exhibitions since 1962 and taken part in numerous group exhibitions. His work was exhibited in a large international watercolour exhibition in Fabriano, Italy in 2018 and 2019 when his painting was selected along with 70 others to take part in a travelling exhibition within Italy. These paintings were subsequently retained by the international watercolour museum in Fabriano. More recently he took part in the exhibition of watercolours, Fabriano Akvarello, in Fort Worth, Texas in October 2024. Additionally he was selected to take part in the Festival Internacional de Acuarela, Cordoba 2023 and 2024. He now sits on the Board of NAS, Nordic Watercolour Association.

    

Education: Journeyman‘s qualification in illustration printing. BA degree in visual art. MA in art

Valand University, Gautaborg. Teaching degree from the University of Akureyri.  M.Ed. from the University of Akureyri in 2013.
