Igor was born and raised in the Russian community of Latvia when the country was part of the USSR. After graduating from the Fine Arts College in the capital, Riga, he enrolled in the textile department of the University of Vitebsk in Belarus. On completion of his university education he worked as an illustrator for more than 25 years. A few years ago he moved with his family to Iceland where they have now made their new home.
