ÖRN BÁRÐUR

Örn Bárður Jónsson (b. 1949) is a pastor who has served in Iceland and Norway. He now finds he has time to pursue his interest in visual art.
He commenced painting in oils and acrylics in 1990. Then after an interval of several years he became interested in watercolour and urban sketching, an interest which has last 10 years and continues to attract him.
In 1997 he attended a course in life drawing and has since developed a plein-air style of watercolour painting, instructed by his friend Óskar Thorarensen.
In 2012 Örn attended a watercolour course led by Alvaro Castagnet and in 2019 he took part in his first formal exhibition in Norway. More recently (2021) he held his first solo exhibition, this time in Reykjavík, Iceland.
