SIGRÚN ÁSA
SIGMARSDÓTTIR

Sigrún Ása Sigmarsdóttir.jpg

Sigrún Ása Sigmarsdóttir (1957) has attended art courses with several teachers and is also an instructor in the Zentangle art method.

Her art primarily derives from the organic forms in nature. There is a strong reference to the world of plants where she emphasises the delicate forms by the use of strong colour and texture. “Play and art direct my development and tell new stories about my existence. Strong bonds with nature continually awake my curiosity, wonder, well-being and inspire me. Creativity is manifested in poetry, watercolours, embroidery, drawings, paintings as well as a variety of techniques and tools. I practice, try out new things, play and learn. I would hope that the observer can experience the enlightenment and joy of colour in my work.”
