SÓLVEIG DAGMAR
ÞÓRISDÓTTIR

Sólveig Dagmar Þórisdóttir has worked as a visual artist at a cooperative studio in Reykjavík since 2007 but has recently moved to her own new studio in Keilagrandi, Reykjavík. She has enjoyed a long career as a visual artist, graphic designer and culture communicator. She has also worked for over two decades as a tour guide and is owner of the company Create Iceland – Travel ehf.
Paintings are the source of a long search to find the right techniques and get an insight into the mindset, maturity and depth which an artist develops during the creative process in the calm of the Great Outdoors.
“In this way the artist connects her art with her creativity in Nature and therefore often paints en plein air on her travels. Thus, she communicates with her audience in the most effective way and to this end she also presents videos which show the preparation of the paintings”
Sólveig was a visiting artist in the cultural centre in the town of Hveragerði in June 2009 and again in 2021.
