Our visiting artist from Australia, Herman Pekel, entertained us one evening while he interpreted a street scene from Reykjavík. The mountain Esja made an appearance in the distance and Herman called it "the hill“, although in comparison to mountains in his home country, it could easily be mistaken for a hill. The finished painting was sold on the spot.
